Choosing the right Maple syrup…
- Vermont Grade A Golden Color with Delicate Taste: If you favor a light touch of maple, something delicate and refined we suggest Golden Delicate. It’s smooth and subtle, the kind you might drizzle over fresh vanilla ice cream or a warm slice of strawberry shortcake. This award-winning syrup is also our go-to for crafting small-batch candies and fudges, where a gentle hand brings out the best in every bite.
- Vermont Grade A Amber Color with Rich Taste: For a flavor that feels like home we recommend Amber Rich. This is the one we reach for most often—steady, balanced, and full of that classic maple character. It’s just right poured over a stack of pancakes, soaking into every warm layer.
- Vermont Grade A Dark Color with Robust Taste: If you enjoy a stronger, heartier flavor, you can’t go wrong with Dark Robust. Bold and comforting, it’s perfect stirred into a hot cup of coffee, cooking, or enjoyed in anything that calls for a little extra warmth and richness.
Truth be told, every grade has its place at the table. Our syrup is drawn straight from the trees, carefully boiled down, and finished with patience—pure, natural, and exceptional.
If you’re unsure which to choose, we’re always here in the Sugarhouse, happy to help you find the one that feels just right—and even offer a taste so you can decide.
SYRUP GRADES
VERMONT GRADE A GOLDEN COLOR - DELICATE TASTE
The lightest in color and the most delicate in flavor. The delight of native Vermonters and connoisseurs of maple syrup. Great on pancakes and ice cream, and foods where the delicate flavor can be appreciated. But if you desire a definite, strong flavor, this is not for you.
VERMONT GRADE A AMBER - RICH TASTE
The most popular grade for all around use. Medium in color and flavor. If in doubt which grade to try, give this one a go!
VERMONT GRADE A DARK ROBUST TASTE
Darker and stronger than Amber Color with Rich Taste. If a definite, more robust maple flavor is preferred, then Dark with Robust maple syrup is the perfect grade for you.
GRADE A VERY DARK COLOR - STRONG TASTE
As the maple sugaring season draws closer to the end, the maple flavor will start to change. The buds on the maple trees are growing at a faster rate, because the weather is warming up and the excellent maple flavor will turn to a rancid buds taste. This maple syrup used to be called Grade C, but is now known as “Very Dark/Strong Taste.” This grade is used for cooking.
PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT SELL THIS GRADE.
